1. Learning model based on 20 years of research

I admit it. I’m a research nerd. Over the years it has become so important to me, both personally and professionally, to find the best way to teach children; studying how children learn and more specifically, how the brain learns. That is why I have invested in the Montessori method of teaching, primarily because it encourages students to “think outside the box.” Not only can this pedagogy be applied in a classroom but works exceedingly well in tutoring sessions in Reading and Math (link). Children must believe in themselves and become confident learners, thereby providing the academic advantages that they will need in life.

2. Unlocking curiosity – the freedom to ask questions & problem solve

This is truly a gift to give a child. We as educators become part of their learning journey. When students are granted the freedom and provided with the necessary support to question, delve deeply, and establish meaningful connections, they undergo a transformative journey. In this empowering environment, students emerge as confident, enthusiastic, and self-directed learners. They develop the crucial skill of critical thinking, enabling them to analyze information, evaluate perspectives, and make informed judgments.

Fun multisensory, hands-on learning provides several advantages for students. Progress monitoring provides ongoing assessment of a student’s academic growth, enabling tutors to tailor instruction based on well-researched approaches and the science of learning.

By tracking progress, students and tutors can identify areas for improvement and implement targeted interventions, fostering motivation and successful learning.

We communicate

Keeping you well informed is a must in tutoring services.

We will share how your student performed on progress monitoring, their progress in tutoring, and what we will continue working on, and discuss any recommended changes to achieve your family’s goals.

Montessori materials – your child might need more of a concrete, hands-on, multisensory approach to learning the foundations. Too often, children are rushed into abstract concepts, especially in math.
Scientifically based researched tutoring materials are at the core of the tutoring programs. As a Special Education teacher and Reading and Math Interventionist, I have personally reviewed different programs to choose the very best programs for my students.

We know the results
of face to face tutoring

There are advantages to face-to-face tutoring, and we believe fully in this method to gain the best results for students.

Face-to-face tutoring allows for direct interaction between the student and the tutor, which enhances communication and fosters a stronger connection.

In-person tutoring facilitates a more personalized approach that takes into account the individual student’s learning style and pace.

This can lead to a more tailored and effective tutoring experience, allowing the tutor to better assess the student’s progress and adjust the teaching accordingly.
