My Education & Experience:

Hi, I’m Laura!

I am my students’ biggest cheerleader and dedicated to helping children have the best possible start to their education. I have 20 years teaching experience as a Director/Founder of a Montessori School, Montessori Head Teacher, Reading Interventionist, and a Math & Reading Tutor. I hold 2 Master’s degrees: Master’s in Education: Montessori specialist (Summa Cum Laude) and Master’s degree in Special Education (Summa Cum Laude). Teaching children to read is my passion and is very important to me. Always learning, and to further my study of how children learn to read (with a focus on the struggles that they might encounter), I had the privilege of taking intensive coursework and gained certification in helping children with Dyslexia. In addition, I hold my Montessori 3-6 credential from American Montessori Society.

I love talking to parents about this wonderful and honoring teaching philosophy. When parents come into my classroom and understand the significance of the materials on the shelves and the beautiful classroom, they are excited to know what their child will do, achieve and learn. A very famous quote from Dr. Maria Montessori is “Play is the work of the child.” This is so true in my classroom, and it is a pleasure to watch children grow, learn, be curious and have fun!
